Red Bull’s premature unveiling of a new name for their AlphaTauri Formula 1 team has raised eyebrows.
The organisation’s junior team recently updated their Instagram handle to ‘VisaCashAppRB’, leading to speculation that this might stand for Visa Cash App Racing Bulls.

Last year’s trademark filings for ‘Racing Bulls’ hinted at a possible departure from the AlphaTauri branding. Current official records still include ‘RB’, but recent domain registrations such as RacingBulls.com and VisaCashAppRB.com suggest a major rebranding to ‘Visa CashApp Racing Bulls’, as reported by Speedcafe.
Despite the team’s current social media profiles and Twitter handle displaying the traditional Scuderia AlphaTauri name, an official rebranding announcement seems imminent.
A strategic transformation
This rebranding marks a significant strategic transformation for AlphaTauri, as they transition from a mere junior team to an independent competitor, strategically collaborating with Red Bull Racing where advantageous.

This shift also reflects a realisation that promoting the AlphaTauri fashion label hasn’t met expectations, highlighting the team’s need for substantial commercial support.
The new team name, however, has not been well-received online. Many social media users have criticised it, some calling it the worst name in Formula 1 history and others, less charitably, the worst in any sport.
