Newey’s Insight Forecasts Challenging Times Ahead for F1 Rivals

Eddie Jordan delivers unsettling news for F1 enthusiasts anticipating more thrilling races in the 2024 season. Adrian Newey has conveyed to him that catching up with Red Bull’s advancements seems nearly impossible, casting a shadow over teams in the coming years.

The 2022 regulatory shifts presented a golden opportunity for all F1 teams to recalibrate. Ferrari appeared poised with a promising start but hit a ceiling in advancing their design. Conversely, with their RB18, Red Bull has been forging ahead, gradually leaving other teams in their wake.

“I don’t care what engine Mercedes have, the car is not to the level and the quality aerodynamically, in terms of the ability to drive it hard and to get the maximum out of it like Max Verstappen is able to do. A lot of this, nevertheless, is to the sheer talent that Max has because Checo is not able to do the same thing as he can.” Jordan disclosed on the Formula For Success podcast.

In light of the prevailing speculation around Red Bull Racing, Eddie Jordan holds a firm conviction regarding the imminent victor at the 2023 Austin GP: Max Verstappen. His dialogue with Red Bull’s Chief Technical Officer, Adrian Newey, has fortified his belief in Verstappen’s continued dominance in the upcoming years.

Sharing insights from a recent interaction, Jordan stated, “I was at a function the other night with Adrian Newey, we cycle a lot together in Cape Town, and Adrian tells me that he feels that the evolution of what they’ve got at the moment is going to be so difficult for anyone to catch up with. So please, folks out there, prepare yourself either for a boring time or an exciting time, depending on whether you’re a Red Bull fan or not.”
