Formula One

Rudaz made a single attempt to compete in the Formula One World Championship at the 1964 Italian Grand Prix. Driving a privately entered Cooper T60 for the Fabre Urbain team, he qualified 20th from a field of 25 entrants, earning a place on the starting grid.

However, his Grand Prix debut was cruelly denied when his engine failed during practice. The damage prevented him from taking the start, leaving the Italian Grand Prix as both his only Formula One entry and a race he never had the chance to contest.

Endurance Racing

Alongside his Formula One ambitions, Rudaz also competed in endurance racing. In 1964, he took part in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans, adding one of motorsport’s most iconic events to his racing résumé.

Life After Racing

Following his retirement from competitive motorsport, Rudaz turned his attention to business. In 1973, he founded the airline Transvalair, which has grown into a successful company specialising in freight forwarding and cargo handling.

His transition from racing driver to entrepreneur proved just as successful as his time behind the wheel, establishing a lasting legacy beyond motorsport.
