Formula One Career

Bussinello made his Formula One World Championship debut on 10 September at the 1961 Italian Grand Prix. Over the course of his career, he entered three World Championship Grands Prix but only started two, and he did not score any championship points.

In addition to his World Championship appearances, Bussinello was a regular entrant in the era’s non-championship Formula One races.

Success Beyond Formula One

Like many drivers of his generation, Bussinello enjoyed success across multiple categories of motorsport. He was particularly active in touring car and sports car.

One of the highlights of his international career came in 1964 when he travelled to Australia to compete in a production car race at Melbourne’s Sandown Park circuit. Sharing an Alec Mildren Racing Alfa Romeo Giulia TI Super with Australian driver Ralph Sachs, Bussinello claimed victory in the 1964 Sandown 6 Hour International.

The event would later evolve into the famous Sandown 500, making Bussinello one of the early winners of a race that would become one of Australia’s most prestigious endurance events.
