Harry Erich Merkel (10 January 1918–11 February 1995) never reached a World Championship starting grid. The German driver’s sole entry came at the 1952 German Grand Prix, sharing Willi Krakau‘s BMW-Eigenbau. Without a recorded qualifying time, his championship opportunity ended before the race began.
