Hubertus “Huub” Rothengatter (born 8 October 1954) is a Dutch former racing driver who competed in Formula One during the mid-1980s before moving into driver management and, later, business.

Formula One
Rothengatter made his Formula One debut on 17 June at the 1984 Canadian Grand Prix and went on to enter 30 Grand Prix races in his World Championship career.
He raced for three of Formula One’s smaller independent teams of the period: Spirit, Osella and Zakspeed.
Competing largely in machinery that struggled to challenge the established front-runners, Rothengatter was unable to score a World Championship point during his time in Formula One.
Nevertheless, he carved out a place on the Grand Prix grid during an era dominated by powerful turbocharged cars and some of the sport’s biggest names.
After racing
Rothengatter remained involved in Formula One after his own driving career came to an end, moving into sports and driver management.
Most notably, he became the manager of fellow Dutch Formula One driver Jos Verstappen, giving him an influential role behind the scenes as the Netherlands began producing a new generation of Grand Prix talent.
His career after motorsport also extended into business. Rothengatter became a co-founder of EVBox, a company specialising in electric-vehicle charging infrastructure.
Rothengatter’s story therefore stretches well beyond his 30 Formula One entries. From Grand Prix driver to F1 management and later the electric-mobility industry, he successfully found new careers on both sides of the pit wall – and eventually well beyond it.
