Heeks made two appearances in the Formula One World Championship, making his debut on 3 August 1952. Racing during a period when the championship was run to Formula Two regulations, he competed against a highly competitive international field but was unable to finish in the points on either occasion.

Although his Formula One career was short, Heeks remains part of the history of German motorsport as one of the country’s early Grand Prix drivers, a generation of drivers who helped shape the foundations of post-war international racing.
