Ambraüsus “Brausch” Niemann (born 7 January 1939) is a former South African racing driver whose wonderfully varied career took him from Formula One machinery to championship-winning motorcycle competition.

Niemann made two appearances at Formula One World Championship Grands Prix, both on home soil and both at the wheel of a privately entered Lotus. His first attempt came in 1963, when he successfully qualified for the South African Grand Prix and brought the car home in 14th place.
He returned for another shot at the World Championship in 1965, again entering his Lotus for the South African Grand Prix. This time, Niemann was unable to qualify, leaving his Formula One record at one race start from two attempts and no championship points.
Away from the Grand Prix spotlight, Niemann enjoyed greater success in Formula Junior, establishing himself as a competitive force in the category during the mid-1960s.
Then came a particularly unusual career change. Rather than continuing exclusively on four wheels, Niemann switched his attention to enduro motorcycle racing. It proved far more than a casual diversion: in 1979, he became South African enduro motorcycle champion.
That achievement gave Niemann a rare motorsport résumé. From qualifying a privately entered Lotus for his home Formula One Grand Prix to winning a national championship on two wheels, Brausch Niemann demonstrated the kind of versatility few racing drivers can claim.
