Born in Milan, Fabi began his motorsport journey in karting as a teenager with the Birel team. He progressed to Formula Three in 1979 at the age of 18, and in 1980 joined the Euroracing team, partnering Michele Alboreto. That season, he finished third in the European Formula Three Championship.
Fabi moved up to Formula Two in 1981 and achieved his greatest single-seater success in 1982, when he won the championship driving a March-BMW.
In 1983, he stepped up to Formula One with Osella. Despite the car’s limited competitiveness, Fabi demonstrated a strong qualifying pace, frequently outperforming his teammate Piercarlo Ghinzani.
The following year, he joined Brabham, where he shared a race seat with his brother Teo. Corrado substituted for Teo when the latter was competing in CART racing in the United States, notably appearing at events such as the 1984 Dallas Grand Prix.
After his Formula One opportunities came to an end, Fabi briefly raced in CART before retiring from professional motorsport to help manage his family’s business.
