Between 1953 and 1962, Constantine contested 108 national-level races and won 17. His major victories included the 1956 Watkins Glen Grand Prix, achieved in a Jaguar D-Type, and the 1959 Nassau Trophy.

Constantine’s speed was particularly evident in 1958, when he established circuit records at Marlboro and Lime Rock. His Lime Rock benchmark was 1 minute 5.81 seconds. He was also ranked among the leading entrants in Daytona’s 1959 international sports-car race.

His achievements earned him the title of United States Sports Car Driver of the Year for 1960.

Constantine enjoyed his greatest success in Elisha Walker Jr.’s Aston Martin DBR2/1, prepared by mechanic Rex Woodgate. That combination helped make him one of the outstanding figures of America’s formative sports-car era.
