Louis José Lucien Dolhem was a French racing driver who competed in Formula One during the 1970s. He was the half-brother and first cousin of Didier Pironi, as they shared the same father, and their mothers were sisters.
Born in Paris, Dolhem entered three Formula One Grands Prix, making his debut at the 1974 French Grand Prix. He did not score any World Championship points during his brief Formula One career.
His only race start ended under tragic circumstances at the 1974 United States Grand Prix. Following the fatal accident of his teammate Helmut Koinigg during the event, Dolhem was withdrawn by his team before taking part.
Death and legacy
Dolhem died on 16 April 1988 in a plane crash near Saint-Just-Saint-Rambert, close to Saint-Étienne.
His death came just eight months after that of Didier Pironi, who was killed in a powerboat racing accident. The two are buried together in Grimaud, near Saint-Tropez in southern France.
