Before reaching Formula One, Kozarowitzky gained experience across various junior single-seater categories, developing a solid foundation in European lower-formula racing.

Career

Rise through the junior ranks

Kozarowitzky’s early career followed a typical path for aspiring Formula One drivers of the era, progressing through junior formulae where he gained valuable experience but limited major results. Despite this, he secured an opportunity to step up to Formula One in 1977.

Formula One attempts

In 1977, Kozarowitzky joined RAM Racing, which was running customer cars built by March Engineering.

Swedish Grand Prix

His first attempt came at the Swedish Grand Prix. Driving a March 761, he failed to qualify—largely due to a lack of testing time and familiarity with the car.

British Grand Prix

Kozarowitzky’s second attempt was at the British Grand Prix. However, his weekend ended prematurely after an accident in practice while avoiding Rupert Keegan.

The crash left him with a broken hand, and despite the injury, the team reportedly wanted him to continue and attempt to qualify in a spare car. Kozarowitzky refused, choosing instead to withdraw from the event and leave the team.

Retirement

Plans to continue in Formula One in 1978 ultimately collapsed due to a lack of financial backing—a common obstacle for drivers of the era without strong sponsorship.

Following this setback, Kozarowitzky retired from professional racing.
