Formula 1’s newest team will race with a striking split-colour design in its inaugural season, featuring black on one side of the car and white on the other.
The new Cadillac Formula 1 operation revealed the first official livery of its debut car via a high-impact television advert aired during the 2026 Super Bowl, a statement arrival for the American outfit on one of sport’s biggest stages.
The advert ran during the NFL’s showpiece clash, in which the Seattle Seahawks defeated the New England Patriots at Levi’s Stadium, and showcased a livery unlike any planned for the 2026 F1 Championship. Cadillac’s first Formula 1 car will run with a deliberate split design: one side finished in black, the other in white.

At the same moment the advert aired, a full-scale replica of the car was revealed to the public in Times Square, reinforcing the team’s intention to launch its F1 identity well beyond the confines of the paddock.
The team, which is backed by American automotive giant General Motors, will become Formula 1’s 11th entry in 2026 and represents the championship’s first completely new team in a decade.
Cadillac explained that the distinctive look is built around a clear philosophical idea. The dual-colour concept uses “asymmetry as a deliberate design philosophy: a yin-and-yang balance expressed through stark black and white, where grit, determination, and performance meet aspiration, optimism and ambition”.
Chief executive Dan Towriss said:
“This livery represents far more than a paint scheme; it represents who we are and what we bring to Formula 1.
Every detail is intentional: bold, modern, and unmistakably American, while respecting the heritage and precision that define this sport.
Choosing to reveal our first race livery during the Super Bowl and in the heart of Times Square is a way to introduce our identity to the world at the intersection of performance, culture, and entertainment, and to connect with fans in places far beyond the paddock.”
Although the final colours have now been made public, Cadillac’s 2026 car has already accumulated track time. Running in a temporary dark livery, the team completed an initial shakedown last month at Silverstone Circuit, before joining a three-day group test in Barcelona, where the Ferrari-powered challenger logged a total of 164 laps.
For its first season, Cadillac has assembled an experienced, race-winning driver pairing, signing Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez to spearhead its entry into the championship.
Team principal Graeme Lowdon added:
“I’m incredibly proud to reveal the colours of our 2026 Formula 1 challenger.
We are a team built on bold ambition and leadership in innovation, values which we exhibited today by tapping into one of the most culturally significant sporting events in the world in a manner that has never been done by a Formula 1 team before.”
Cadillac returns to action in Bahrain this week. The newly revealed race livery will make its first appearance on the car during a filming day at the Bahrain International Circuit on Monday, ahead of official pre-season testing beginning on 11th February alongside the rest of the Formula 1 grid.
