Victory at Albert Park gave Max Verstappen the 37th win of his career and Red Bull its 95th, extending both their tallies at the head of the 2023 championship fight.

The podium carried major statistical landmarks, with Lewis Hamilton recording his 192nd career podium, Fernando Alonso his 101st and Verstappen his 80th; Verstappen became the eighth driver – and the first Dutchman – to reach 80 podiums, while the result also marked the 282nd podium for Mercedes, the 239th for Red Bull and the fourth for Aston Martin.

In qualifying, Verstappen secured the 22nd pole position of his career and the 84th for Red Bull, then converted that pole into his 17th pole‑to‑win combination on Sunday.

Fastest lap honours went to Sergio Perez, who set the 10th fastest lap of his career and became the 37th driver – and the first Mexican – to reach double figures, contributing to Red Bull’s 86th fastest lap in the World Championship.

The race also yielded the first points finish for Oscar Piastri, making him the 349th different driver – and the sixth Australian – to score points in Formula 1.

On the grid, Verstappen’s pole added to his front‑row tally, while George Russell secured his seventh front‑row start as Mercedes continued to feature strongly over one lap.
