Qualifying produced the 21st pole position of Verstappen’s career and the 82nd for Red Bull, with the team registering its 26th qualifying one–two as Verstappen and Perez locked out the front row.
In the race, Guanyu Zhou set the fastest lap of the Grand Prix, the second of his Formula 1 career and the 16th fastest lap for Alfa Romeo, while the front-row tally for Verstappen reached 43 and for Perez reached 7.
Verstappen’s victory from pole also meant he achieved his 16th career pole‑to‑win combination, underlining Red Bull’s dominance at the season opener.
