2022 Japanese Grand Prix winner

Max Verstappen won the 2022 Japanese Grand Prix and clinched the 2022 Formula 1 World Championship with his 32nd career victory. It was the 89th World Championship win for Red Bull.

The podium marked the 75th for Max Verstappen, the 24th for Sergio Perez, and the 22nd for Charles Leclerc. For constructors, it was the 795th World Championship podium for Ferrari and the 228th and 229th for Red Bull.

Max Verstappen secured the 18th pole position of his Formula 1 career, while Red Bull recorded its 80th World Championship pole.

Zhou Guanyu set the first fastest lap of his Formula 1 career, becoming the 137th different fastest-lap setter and the first Chinese driver to do so. It was the 54th World Championship fastest lap for Alfa Romeo.

On the front row, Charles Leclerc made his 23rd start from the top two on the grid, while Max Verstappen made his 39th.
