The 2026 season introduces significant regulatory changes, including a new power unit formula and the introduction of active aerodynamics. Audi officially enters Formula One as a factory team following its acquisition of Sauber in 2024, developing and running its own power units. Cadillac makes its debut in Formula One, powered by Ferrari engines, becoming the series’ eleventh team—the first expansion since Haas in 2016. While Arvid Lindblad joins as the only F1 rookie with Racing Bulls.

Max Verstappen remains the benchmark; he was by far the best driver of the 2025 season, despite not winning the title. But with 8 wins, the most of any driver over the season, as well as most poles and laps led, he remains the absolute benchmark. But with Lando Norris securing the title, and McLaren defending theirs with back-to-back Constructors’ titles, can the team and driver carry that form into a new refulation change? Time will tell.

2024 marked a turning point in Formula 1. Red Bull’s years of dominance took a hit, and with the grid reshuffled for 2025, the title fight was wide open. Could this be the year we saw a new name at the top?

The off-season didn’t disappoint. It all started with the bombshell move—Lewis Hamilton to Ferrari, instantly reshaping the grid. Red Bull and Racing Bulls faced their own shakeups, eventually announcing Liam Lawson as Verstappen’s new teammate to replace the outgoing Sergio Perez. Although that only lasted for two races, Yuki Tsunoda swapped seats with Lawson, finally making it to the main team for his home race at the 2025 Japanese Grand Prix.

But that wasn’t all. Five rookies made their F1 debut in 2025:
